i also joined the dark side and came up with a da page that is about...(take a wild guess!!!...) female muscle!!! (i can hear you say:"wow, martin, now that's something new!!!)

in the past month i have done almost nothing in the field of being artistic, so i figured it would be the best thing to go back to do something i used to enjoy. so what you see there (although i haven't posted anything new, yet...) will be my try to draw something that used to be the main topic of this blog, but with a better environment to browse and find almost any artist that ever drew something in the field of femuscle. many are more talented than i am, but maybe sometimes i might add a piece to the big picture, that you actually enjoy!!!

this blog's focus has been drifting away from the topic of muscle and i understand that, in rex's case, he's off to new (or long forgotten..) shores and wants to break with drawing muscle girls. i can understand that, because the whole community can be a pain in the ass, and an artists never gets the credit he or she deserves for his/her endeavors, but for me at the moment, it's either draw muscle girls or draw nothing, because i just don't have the stamina to come up with something else.

somehow, this blog is neither fish nor flesh and has had a wild selection of comments ranging from web comics to thoughts about the economy to problems with health (mostly by me!!! no offense, red!) and the occasional drawing posted. to be completely honest;

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH IT!!!!!!

so i just leave it be! hope no one was offended by my little rant and that you will check this page anyways. as for the DA site the link is here.

i don't know what to make of it quite honestly. they say that women's bodybuilding has gone way out of hand and that it endorses drug abuse. after watching many fbb videos on you tube i know that every serious fbbler is using tons of that stuff, so the close down might save a few lives of women that have done quite a lot for me in terms of finding a look that i consider to be the perfect woman. so i won't go on asking them to risk their lives doing it. i have to thank them a great deal, and did so over the years in buying videos and subscribing to pay sites.
it is quite clear that the men's devision of the ifbb is doing even more drugs and they aren't punished for it, but in my understanding the ifbb is run by a bunch of machos whose decisions have a history of punishing only the women of the sport, first in prize money, then in regulations of how the women should look.

so maybe in a few years we will all be sitting in front of the computer waiting for some new content from the well known sites (of which a few probably will go bankrupt) and will be bored by seeing the same pictures over and over again. too bad. soo farewell my beloved ones. this is a hard goodbye!!!

Follow up on the Marlin Model 981TS

Got back from the range yesterday, and was truly disappointed with the accuracy of this particular rifle. The point of impact was way off from the point of aim. Groupings were more then twice as wide as my fathers old Winchester of the same caliber. The only adjustment for the sights is elevation. No windage is available so it could never be brought into alignment. The adjustment would need to be large to make it work. I am convinced the uneven rifling in my previous post is responsible for the poor performance of this rifle. I'll be contacting Marlin Firearms to see what can be done under warranty service to fix this problem.

Not very long ago I bought myself a $200.00 .22 long rifle so I wouldn't need to borrow my dads rifle every time I want to go plinking. The link below defines plinking if anyone is curious. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plinking

Anyway, I haven't had the time to take the rifle to the range, but my initial inspection revealed this flaw easily seen from the muzzle end of the gun. This is a cause for concern as it can indicate that the gun will be inaccurate. Something I was told by the sales people was not the case with the Model 981TS www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/BoltAction22/981TS A quick call to marlin customer service gave me the advice to shoot the gun and see if it's affecting accuracy. If so, then I'll need to go through hoops of shipping the gun in for warranty service. I have this dread that such an action will be plagued with a myriad of rules and regulations and no doubt hidden fees. In the sate of California, where I live, the 2nd amendment just about doesn't exist. Under attack 24/7/365 days out of the year, it's noting short of a miracle mere civilians like myself are still legally permitted to own a gun. Oy. I suspect this is going to be quite the experience.

In any case, if my herniated back can make the trip, I'll head out the range either this weekend or next weekend to see how it shoots, and will post my experience, and target photos.

Loosing taste again.

Yesterday, between the morning hours of 7:30 and 9:30 I lost about 20% of my taste again. The pattern was exactly the same as the last time I posted about this problem. This time I was awake and aware of it happening, and this time I have a very strong suspicion as to the cause. The last time I had this, I was racking my brain trying to find anything that could be the cause, and as a result I went off of several newer supplements I was taking. After fully recovering my taste, I have since started to go back on each supplement, one at a time, for about a week, to monitor the effects. Well after day 3 of "Arthro-Immune Joint Support" which I had hoped would be a good stomach safe replacement for NSAID drugs, I have started to get the same taste problem again. This time however I have not lost all of my taste. Probably because I caught it so soon and have stopped taking it. In my searches for a possible link between Arthro-Immune Joint Support and my problem, I stumbled upon this tidbit. http://www.livestrong.com/article/113507-side-effects-andrographis-paniculata/ It's titled "What Are the Side Effects of Andrographis Paniculata?" This is one of the ingredients in the supplement. I found this quote for people who have AIDS. (note that I do not have aids) "reported numerous side effects, including headaches, a metallic taste in the mouth and elevated liver enzymes"

While I can't prove 100% that Arthro-Immune Joint Support is to blame, I will monitor it, and see if this goes away again while I'm off of it. The link to the product is below. I'll have more to say on this subject as it progresses.

Well started my next intern ship and it's about building a site using Wordpress, video recordings and such.

I have worked a little with CMS before when trying to learn to build a site for webcomic and learning to use it basicly, but never got far on my own and I did ask for my teachers for help, but they said I should just do it.

Well then there is the reason, I can't pick one idea for a comic, I have about 20 in my head and just get a new one when I start working on an old one and then there is I exspect people wanting to see a certain quality in my art, which I've been told by the great Rex, turns you into a madman.

Other then that, doing fine, trying to finish some commisions, draw comics, do art, watch anime and cartoons, read comics and manga, getting ideas, slacking of the Beetle Bailey and hitting myself into a blissful sleep.

So besides Rex's good news about his sense of taste, how is it going with the gang?

Lost Sense of Taste Update #2

Just letting everybody know that for all intents and purposes my sense of taste has returned. It's not 100% back, but it's close. Maybe 95% returned. I suspect that given a few more weeks, it will be totally back. I still have zero idea what caused it. I have not taken the meds the doctor prescribed. It just fixed itself. Weird eh?

Letting folks know that I have some photos from this years San Diego comic Con posted at the SPS forum. The link above should take you right to them. Thankfully SDCC wasn't as crowded this year. It was still unpleasantly crowded most of the time, but I was able to move enough that I could see about 30% of the convention. That's a big improvement over last year.

Lost Sense of Taste Update #1

I got back from the doctor today finding out that I have some large polyps (not dangerous) on my sinuses. Doctor seems to think that the loss of taste is mainly a loss of smell. I have a hard time agreeing with that since I can smell just fine, but I’m not sufficiently qualified to argue. Got a prescription for oral corticosteroid to see if that will help. I’ll probably try them after SDCC, which starts tomorrow.

On a positive note, I have regained a little bit of my taste on my own. I can now taste salt fully, where as before it was somewhat muted. I can also taste a little more sweet. The sugar candies I use to test my taste seem to have a more intense sweet, (Still very faint) that actually lasts for up to 20 seconds as opposed to just a second or two. It might be that this problem will go away on it’s own. I know I wish it would.

Another positive note, it’s not, as far as the doctor can tell, anything like cancer or stroke or sinus infection causing this, so I need not fear an untimely death. That takes a bit of the burden off of me to be sure. The actual cause remains a mystery, or theory that will be proven true or false in the next few weeks.

On July 3rd I woke up to find that nothing tasted right. Everything I ate was bitter and metallic and flavorless. By July 5th the bitter and metallic was gone from my taste buds, but the tongues ability to taste was nearly gone. I can not taste sweet unless it's insanely strong, like artificial sweetener, or pure sugar, and even then it's really a muted sense of sweet that only lasts for a second or two. Right now I can taste for the first second I eat and then everything goes flat and tasteless. The only flavors I can taste with any intensity, on a regular basis is bitter. It's a muted flavor, but it's there.

Very early on my parents heard a radio program that described Pine Mouth. Apparently it's a condition similar, but not the same as mine, that comes from eating Pine Nuts. Pine mouth will go away in a few weeks. Sadly, I have not eaten pine nuts. I have only eaten pistachio nuts. For a brief time I convinced myself that it could be the pistachio nuts that caused it and all I needed to do was avoid them and wait. I'm at the point now that I can no longer believe that. I've made an appointment for the doctor, but from what i have read in forums that post about similar problems, the prognosis is bleak.

Hello people!!!!

i made some changes to the blog. Mostly because my interests have changed. the galleries and you tube channels are gone. i'm a little fed up with the topic of bodyybuilding and esspecially the femuscle genre. i don't really want to see the things that are to be seen in the various forums and blogs. that's why the links section is gone, too.

I know that will cost me a lot of my readers, but the post haven't been about muscle for quite some time now and i have the feeling that rex is trying to get away from the topic as well.

My Little Dog is Sick :(

My best friend, Pawz, a 15 year old terrier mix, is sick, and it looks like she might be heading for her eternal dirt nap. I'm waiting for the results of blood work to see if she has any fatal illness. I'm not sure if the Vet even knows for sure what's going on, but it looks grim to see her just laying there listless and almost like she's dead already. Even as I type this I find myself fighting back a twinge of panic. I get this way with every dog I've had. I just kind of assume they will live forever, even though I know full well they will not. My previous dog died at age 14 and she died right in front of me. It was terrible to witness. I'm hoping real hard for some kind of miracle, but at 15 years old, I don't expect one.

Anyway, I'm feeling this horrible dread, and depression right now.

Just read this article from one of the financial sites I watch. I'm always on the lookout for signs of mass inflation and economic collapse, especially in the United States of America. Right now it looks like a couple of Latin American countries are headed to economic oblivion. Well haven't been writing much on the blog at the moment, but that's because for some reason, exams really fill a lot on my mind. Not that it doesn't to who ever have exams, but it stress me out more then anything, so not sleeping well, worried all the time, chest pains and depressing thoughts all the time.

On the 5'th of this month, I'll be up to the oral exam and have to defend the report I did with a group in 15 minutes. 5 minutes were I can talk about what I want to talk about and 10 minutes where the teachers ask something.

The problem is that the group work we did, is not good, took us 2 weeks to get started, leaving only 2 weeks to finish and the group tented to be gone some of the time and worked at home.

It is not a good group process, since you can not know what people are working with or how far they have come. A lot of promises and ideas were made, but not many used, so I do not trust the project.

Then there is the teachers, it is about how to work with them, but also how much trust you have with them. I do not trust some of my teachers, so I do not have much comfort there. Again, it is about how you work with them and if you do not know, it is like butting heads and you don't get much out of it.

I do not think I will get a good grade and do not mind that, but hope for a passing grade, even thought in my depressions, tend to believe I will fail.

Other then that, someone asked me to do a comic for them, which sounds interesting, but while having the exam, does not seem as important. Not that the request does not seem good, but it takes time and I still iffy of how to use pay pal for money orders.

I was thinking 50 dollars per sketch page, 75 for inked and 110 for colour, does not know if that is too pricey, but want to make people sure that if they want something from me, they have to be sure, which is way I was thinking if they have something needed to have changed and really want to, it is a dollar per change and have to be pretty damn sure what needs to be changed.

And while I am here, I was thinking, what would you two like for sketches?

In my presuite of more westerns to entertain me, I bought the remake of "3-10 to Yuma". It's a fast paced film, as the youtube clip will demonstrate. Most the it's characters are cool in their gritty, gun toting way. The main villain motivations seem a bit hard to understand as the film comes to a close. He seems to become good, but why he does so feels a bit vague and hard to believe. All in all this is a pretty neat film, and it has restored my faith in the Western that "The Searchers" nearly destroyed.

Being laid up all this time I got board and decided to buy a few DVD's. I've been getting interested in westerns as of late, and I decided to buy 2 films. One of them was so utterly awful I just had to blog about it. It's "The Searchers" staring John Wayne. Director John Ford, and the screen play written by Frank S. Nugent. After watching this film, that fans of the western genera praise as one of the best, I can truly understand why the whole genera has gone nearly extinct. Some of the worst acting and scripting I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through was the hallmark of this film. I found myself thinking that the loony-toons character "Yosemite Sam" was less of a cartoon then the characters that populated The Searchers. Everything seemed over acted. I will give credit that the parts of the film done on location often had some nice scenery, but that was about the limit of good stuff in this film. I always knew that John Wayne was a lousy actor, but I expected at least some of the supporting cast to carry his dead weight and the film itself. If the supporting actors can actually act, they were never allowed to do so on this film.

a little something i drew today while playing with glitter markers. i know that sounds gay, but the effects were quit astonishing. the only problem is the shadows on the face. i just couldn't get it to scan without that effect on the face. it's too dark. trying to fix it in photoshop was making it even worse. probably my limited skills. but anyway, i kind of like the effect. hope you dig it too!!!

here is the colored version without the lens effect. one can see the poor scan. could help it. the paper was wrinkling from all the coats of paint.

Sweden Cuts Deposit Rate to NEGATIVE .25%

This has got to one of the scariest things I have heard reported about a central bank anywhere in the western world.

"It's a double whammy, or even a triple whammy," said Roger Josefsson at Danske Markets.

"The deposit rates are actually negative now. In some sense they are creating a money machine for banks. You can lend all you want, but don't put that back into the central bank."

Mike Shedlock commented on this news with a similar reaction that I had when I first learned about it.

The global economy is in a mess because of the lack of savings not because of an excess of it. People spent money they did not have, pushing asset prices to ridiculous levels. Banks, in belief that asset prices would keep rising exponentially, increased leverage. Now consumers everywhere are retrenching in the wake of the collapse, a much needed phenomenon.

In light of the above, punishing savers with negative deposit rates is the height of stupidity.

It would be fitting if there was an immediate run on deposits. And if that happens what will Sweden do? Halt deposits? Sweden risks (and deserves) a currency collapse and bank runs for this insane effort. Look for capital flight in Sweden.

My comments. This is insane. Look for an economic wipe out in Sweden if this policy is pursued for long. I live in dread that the USA might follow the Swedish example.

having difficulties to get anything on paper nowadays, but i'm trying. planning some changes to the blog just like the new youtube thingie that i did install on the right hand side just under the links. it did not come out the way i hoped so i will try to update it to show just my favorite youtube channels.

will try to get some short stories drawn that i will present as an interactive comic for all you guys to download. i might try to charge some money for it. but that is a long way from becoming sound. i might try "payloadz" as dsb productions does it with their catfight comics. just that try to produce an interactive flash comic (lots of possibilities there, maybe adding sound or animations after having figured out how exactly that works)

all in all i just feel i have get back to get something done. hope that was kind of a heads up for you guys.

It's barely been a day since the Press Oblivion boards have been down and then inaccessible to me (my log in and password no longer work) and I'm already feeling the horrible withdrawal symptoms. Yesterday I managed to nearly cripple myself crossing a street near home on a walk I've taken thousands of times before. On crossing the somewhat busy street, I had the ultimate calf cramp, and with cars coming at me, I was forced to limp for my life. Today I'm so stiff I can barely walk. Judging by how stiff and painful I am right now, It will be days, or even weeks before I can manage a regular walk again.

This ranks up there with other seemingly improbable injuries. One of them happened to my back merely by getting up out of a chair. I almost blacked out from that one. It was over a decade ago when that happened and I'm still plagued with a gimpy back to this very day.

Man, lately it sucks to be me. :D But don't worry. I shall recover... I hope.

Worried, and Tired, and Lazy

Like most small press artists I find myself prone to bouts of laziness. I'm also prone to inhuman levels of mental exhaustion. Normally these two conditions seldom overlap, allowing me to get some work done by sheer force of will, and/or a combination of caffeine. But lately, with the economy of Rex being about 10 times worse then the market for Sub Prime Mortgages, I find worry for the future eating away at what little energy I have, and my artistic output falling to total zero. I've done nothing for the last 4 weeks. Not even simple doodles. This matches my income. Zero. Luckily I have a modest reserve so starvation isn't going to happen anytime soon, but...

... Having a deep interest in the Austrian School of economics (The one school of thought that predicted this economic melt down many years in advance) I know with near total certainty how it will play out. A potentially decade (or decades) long recession with the possibility of double digit price inflation in the next year or two. If that kind of inflation happens we can all thank out respective Central Banks for printing money like the greedy counterfeiters they are. I see economic doom in the future. (At least for a person of modest means such as myself)

... So as you all can guess, I've been plagued with worry for the long term survival of Rex.

... Funny thing about stress is that it makes me even more tired then normal. I feel exhausted 99% of the time.

... And today and for the last few weeks I've been experiencing an insidious bout of laziness. Usually manifested by me watching youtube videos all day long. It's gotten so bad that I have to leave the computer off just to get any work at all done.

In other news I have a wacom tablet that I got well over a month ago and haven't had the energy or will to do anything with except to see if it works. So far it's proven to be a magnificent paper weight and fairly good improvised backscratcher holder.

Such a waste of money... It sits there staring up at me trying to scream out "Rexxxxxx! Use me damn it! I'm expensive! You spent days researching me and now that I'm here I sit and rot on your table top!" :D

... Sigh. So that's what Rex has been up to for the last month.

Late bloomer or dud?

Late bloomer or dud, many things I ask myself, because I can't seem to stick to a story, like I should, if I should publish something.

It's not because I want to rant more then I should, it's one of journal posts you shouldn't make, while your tired(Writing this at 3 in the morning and jacked on 2 liters of cola, so I'm a little loopy).

I collect How To Draw, to see if I can try to understand doing comics better and do some that are good, but that isn't the correct way to do it. Why not?
Because the only way to make good comics, is first to make any comic and second, good or bad, you have done something that shows your able to, even if it's not worth a dime.
Some are good at it, right of the bat and I can't help being envious, it's not a bad thing, I acknowledge their talents and hard work, just seems to uses them as blocks then saying "I should try it that way" or "Hell, that's a funny idea, I should do that".

We have an artist, called Peter Snejbjerg, some might know him as the artist on Light Brigade or Detective 27 and I've trying to read his series Hypernauten. Kind of betting it's not in English, so no one outside Denmark(can't speak of other countries like Germany, just don't expect to been big outside of Denmark) have read it.
It's gotten high praises and should perhaps have it in my collection, but looking in it, I feel a little lost, not because of the story, but because I wanted to do something like a graphic novel, and don't know if I have it in me to do one.
Wouldn't be bad to have something that could make people proud of having or even like to have in their collection, but I'm not good at having such high expectations.

Other then the high and lows of being a doubting and when tired, depressed artist, can't say I should complain really. My personal life sucks many times, but at least I know my family will be there if something really bad happens, or so I hope and people on the net are very supporting, which surprises me many times and makes me happy. At times I feel like I owe them something, because without them, I don't know what I would have become.

Hope this moaning doesn't fill too much of peoples time, just wanted to vent a little, while I can't sleep. Don't have facebook and to be honest, I won't. I guessing there are some good things at using it, but seen how it can easily be abused, so it didn't have any selling points with me.

European Commission officials have estimated that impaired assets may amount to 44pc of EU bank balance sheets. The Commission estimates that so-called financial instruments in the trading book total £12.3 trillion (13.7 trillion euros), equivalent to about 33pc of EU bank balance sheets.

In addition, so-called 'available for sale instruments' worth £4trillion (4.5 trillion euros), or 11pc of balance sheets, are also added by the Commission to arrive at the headline figure of £16.3 trillion.
