Got back from the range yesterday, and was truly disappointed with the accuracy of this particular rifle. The point of impact was way off from the point of aim. Groupings were more then twice as wide as my fathers old Winchester of the same caliber. The only adjustment for the sights is elevation. No windage is available so it could never be brought into alignment. The adjustment would need to be large to make it work. I am convinced the uneven rifling in my previous post is responsible for the poor performance of this rifle. I'll be contacting Marlin Firearms to see what can be done under warranty service to fix this problem.
Photos of my results, with captions, are posted below.

Me too. I shipped the gun to the factory for warranty repair. Probably be close to a month before I get it back. I'll know more then.
