funny, but so far not true for europe. inflation is a problem but it is not out of hands. the last time i was in the us, which was 14 to 15 years after my last visit, i was shocked on how much some prices had gone up. being a smoker it was especially the cigarettes. when i was in the usa in 1991 a pack cost a dollar twenty, in 2004 it was five to six bucks more than in germany. beer was expensive too. the guy at the grocery store told me that you guys were being "taxed to death".
another superficial viewpoint, but hey, i'm a simple kind of guy.
by the way, those were las vegas prices. expensive olympia weekend, but it was wooooooorrrrrth it.

So far the recession is holding prices down, but with all the monetary expansion we should all expect inflation to show up, and add it's burden to the recession. I expect to see 5% inflation appearing in the general economy by summer of this year. If the central banks keeps printing money, it might be even higher. Meanwhile this will delay liquidation of bad assets delaying any recovery, perhaps for as long as the great depression lasted.
SinFest is one of the few web comics that seems to be aware of what is coming. It's just one more reason to read it.
